I joined the board three years ago after leading a PPL Life team at my church for a couple of years. A native Californian, and daughter of art professors, I am a graduate of UC Berkeley and CSU Chico and a lifelong Presbyterian. My husband Jim and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary this year and we are the proud parents of Emily, Donald and Joe. To our joy, we now have a lovely daughter-in-law Myranda!
I believe that PPL exists to engage Presbyterians to be a voice for the most vulnerable. The church must go beyond position papers on the various "life" issues and be the frontline means by which grace, compassion, tangible help, truth and protection of the gospel permeate our culture.
I would like to be Giselle in the Disney movie Enchanted because I love her joyful, wide-eyed innocence and her exciting dancing and singing in Central Park.
My idea of fun is to visit art museums, botanical gardens and tour historical homes. Fun at home is cooking from my new favorite cookbook Milk Street while listening to a podcast of the same name.
