PPL Appoints Associate Director

The Board of Directors of Presbyterians Pro-Life is delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs. Laureen Bodnar to the position of Associate Director. Laureen began her work with PPL on April 2. Laureen is passionate about the pro-life ministry and has a clear calling to extend the grace and forgiveness of Christ to women who have had abortions. Her duties will focus on networking and equipping PPL’s partner churches and chapters, as well as assisting the executive director in fundraising, speaking, and publications.

Laureen is a PC(USA) elder, active in missions and music in her local church, and co-facilitates the “Forgiven and Set Free” bible study at a local Pregnancy Care Center. She freely shares her own testimony of God’s grace and healing following abortion and says, “Each time I share my story, God gives me more strength and courage to move forward. For me, God turns the pain into spiritual energy so that I can serve Him better. …One reason why it’s such an honor to be working with PPL is that they also have that spiritual energy and desire to get things done within the church and educate those outside the church. It’s comforting to be with a group of like-minded brothers and sisters in Christ that are so unified on these critical pro-life/pro-family issues.”

In addition to sharing her testimony, Laureen enjoys writing a “Stand 4 Life” column for church newsletters. “I want my letters, as simple as they are, to bring attention to pro-life issues that we normally neglect in the church. I’m certainly not a Theologian but God’s calling to me is clear; I am to be a voice for the unborn and offer the hope of healing and forgiveness to women suffering from the devastation of abortion. I won’t give up until I’m too old or too dead to speak, whichever comes first! That’s my purpose!”

Laureen lives with her husband, John, and their two sons Nathan (14) and Luke (12) in Gibsonia, PA. They have been members of Northminster Presbyterian Church (USA) for 15 years.
