One week ago our nation suffered a massive, deliberate attack, which we have now learned took the lives of thousands of innocent people. We in Presbyterians Pro-Life join with the family members and friends of those whose lives were taken--and with all Americans--in grieving the loss of those who are our brothers and sisters and neighbors. Some of those lives were ended as they performed ordinary daily routines unwarned and unsuspecting in their offices, and others as they heroically attempted rescue efforts. No spilling of innocent blood goes unnoticed by our Heavenly Father. He promises that even the hairs of our heads are numbered. He promises to be our refuge and our strength.

The events of one week ago--and the terrible grief we share with too many families-- sharpen our awareness of the value God himself has put on each human life.
