At its annual meeting on October 12, 2001, the Board of Presbyterians Pro-Life endorsed the Confessing Church Movement, particularly in its desire to unify and reform the Presbyterian Church (USA), and its theological affirmations of the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the authority of Scripture, and the call to holiness in our daily lives and relationships. This is consistent with our Presbyterian confessional heritage. We remind the congregations in the Confessing Church Movement that these three affirmations are consistent with the call to nurture, care and protect every innocent human life from fertilization until natural death. PPL calls on congregations that confess Christ to work for the reversal of the official position of the PCUSA which permits abortion as a valid moral choice. We join our efforts with all those seeking the reformation of the PCUSA.
