It is important that we Presbyterians not make our "peace" with beliefs and actions that are in conflict with the truth of Christian faith. We are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses, many of whom died for "the faith once delivered to the saints" so that it could be passed down intact to us. And now, it is our responsibility to preserve the truth for our children and grandchildren.

Ours is a church government that vests both power and responsibility at the lower governing bodies of our denomination. Individual church members and churches can use our Presbyterian process to affect the decisions of our higher governing bodies. It is important to get involved. Become active in the reform and renewal efforts. Take action now. Here are a few ways to begin to make your voice heard.

• Send up an overture on abortion
• Circulate the physician’s petition against late term abortion
• Send up an overture to end distribution of the current sexuality curriculum
• Send up an overture to reform denominational processes
• Become a "relief of conscience" church that opposes use of tithes and offerings to pay for unrestricted abortion coverage by our denomination
• Celebrate the Sanctity of Human Life during 2003
• Proclaim and teach God’s value for human life in the preaching and teaching ministry of your church
• Distribute the PPL News in your church
• Call for all Presbyterians to preserve the peace, unity, and purity of the Church by upholding our church constitution
