The rejection of Life by the "pro-choice" view: At the recent General Assembly meeting, a commissioner rose to offer a motion that requested that Presbyterian Health, Education, and Welfare Association (PHEWA)—home to Presbyterians Affirming Reproductive Options (PARO)—engage in discussion with Presbyterians Pro-Life (PPL). The commissioner asked that the two groups seek common ground in looking for ways to support a woman’s right to choose life for her child. He named tangible helps the groups might explore and recommend for the church’s support, such as housing, child care, and job training. But his motion was rejected by the Assembly. Other com-missioners objected to the exclusion of abortion in his motion. In other words, the church is unjust if it supports life for unborn children without equal support for death for unborn babies. The outcome of this Assembly on late term abortion, in which babies are viable and could live outside the womb, was to choose death for those babies in preference over life. This position is a scandal to the Christian Church. PPL stands in the historic and biblical center of the Christian Church in advocating for the protection and care of every human life, for mothers and their babies in the case of troubled pregnancies. PPL is the only resource for the historic and biblical center of the Presbyterian Church on issues of life. Please show your support for Life by your support for Presbyterians Pro-Life.
