Former atheist, former political radical, former shipyard welder, and former lots of other things including former young and former thin, J. Budziszewski (Ph.D. Yale, 1981) is best known for his work on what St. Paul called the law "written on the heart." The focus of his work is the repression of moral knowledge—on what goes wrong in us when we try to convince ourselves that we don’t know what we really do know. A popular speaker, Budziszewski’s articles have appeared in scholarly and popular journals.
