overture would add a quote from
On Amending the terms
of call to exclude abortion coverage from the Medical Benefits Plan
The
overture specifies an amendment to either the nFOG or B.O.O. that would
specifically exclude abortion coverage in the Medical Benefits Plan mandated
for pastors.
Cease
paying for abortion as a covered benefit in the Board of Pensions Medical
Benefits Plan
If adopted
by the General Assembly this overture would instruct the Board of Pensions to
cease coverage of abortion in the Medical Benefits Plan for pastors.
On
taking a stand against forced/coerced abortion
This
overture is a simple declaration that we stand with women against forced or
coerced abortion. If adopted it will provide direction for the advocacy of the
Washington Office on this aspect of abortion.
